Position: Teacher (2 openings) — starting at $30 per hour.
Bridges Reading and Writing Institute is looking for an experienced and well-qualified teacher to work with students in the areas of reading and writing. This is a part-time position. Classes are 3:30-5:30 P.M. The qualifications are as follows:
• A valid single subject or multiple subject credential. • At least four (4) years experience teaching Language Arts/English Literature and Comprehension at the junior high or high school level. • Have a strong background and passion for creative writing as well as analytical writing • Understand the reading and writing connection. • Must display understanding of active reading and the full writing process and have experience facilitating writer’s workshops for kids. • Teacher must be familiar with teaching literature-based units.
Bridges will provide training, teaching framework and sequence, and reading/writing materials. Bridges is looking for a friendly, outgoing, hardworking, committed teacher who has a love for children and a passion for both reading and writing.
